We cannot fight disease and poverty, closing our eyes to basic human rights. Public health and the right of children to eat is not only a nutritional question, it is about our shared responsibility to guarantee children's rights. The International Children's Aid Network is just that... a community that has come together to relieve suffering.

No international initiative can work without campaigning for social justice. It is our responsibility to actively campaign for the basic rights of human beings. Everyone shares with us the same obligation to work together to terminate extreme poverty. Our alliances in Kenya are campaigning for basic human rights and continually encourages everyone to become involved in children's and women's rights.

Education

Health care is intimately linked with poverty. The eradication of poverty is dependant on education, and by education we mean supporting access to basic schooling for all children. We will include basic education as part of our poverty eradication programme in keeping with the UN charter on children's rights.

ICAN will help communities in building local schools and supports local grass root activities that improves girls attendance in schools. Child health promotion materials and resources are desperately required for rural schools in Kenya and Tanzania.

Immunisation

Through our partners in Kenya, ICAN can help supported immunization projects in pastoralist communities, desert and semi desert areas.

Children have the right to be immunized and a right to live.
